WORKSHOPS

Workshops with us are high energy, hands-on experiences based on our book The Thriving Artists: A Guide to an Inspired Life, Empowered Career, and Entrepreneurial Finances. We teach from a street level perspective, which gives students a unique experience that will enable them to not just pursue, but achieve their dreams. We also provide the critical financial know-how to navigate life as a successful freelance artist.

Here are a few of the universities we have had the pleasure of working with:

Artist and Entrepreneur Workshop

This not-to-be-missed seminar prepares students for the ins and outs of a life as an artist. In this workshop Joe and Christine give specific attention to mindset, finances, job creation, budgeting, and money management. This is by far the most sought after information that all young artists, especially young performing artists, need to start (and sustain) their career. This session is unparalleled because it is lead by working professionals who are actively succeeding in show business today.

"Joe and Christine are a vault of practical knowledge and sage advice. My students and I learned so much about managing money, career, and life from their workshops. They are living it right now, so the wisdom they share is from absolute first-hand, present-day experience."
---Jonathan Flom; Musical Theatre Program Director, President of Musical Theatre Educators Alliance (MTEA)

Audition Fear Workshop

Nobody needs another set of "auditions tricks & techniques" to lay on top of a scared and desperate performer... what we need are more performers who are truly, authentically, fearless

This workshop takes students through the eye of the needle with a series of exercises that reveal the root cause of fear in the audition room, and how to control it so they can absolutely crush any audition they walk in to.

One of the best workshops for performers out there today.

Broadway Audition Intensive Workshop

Modeled after Joe and Christine's extensive experience auditioning for Broadway productions with top professionals. Here, two different dance combinations will be taught in real audition time and then performed in an audition setting. Combinations may include original choreography from Broadway repertoire including Hairspray, Chicago, 42nd Street, CATS, The Little Mermaid, Shrek, My Fair Lady, and A Chorus Line to name a few.

Specific notes will be taken on performance, technique, and overall audition etiquette. Students will then be asked to sing 16 bars of their best audition song, and may be asked for a second selection. Feedback will be given to all students on their choice of song, audition attire, and overall performance.

We give students as much constructive criticism as possible. This can include song choices, shows they are right for, careers of current performers to study, and much more. Afterwards there will be a Q & A about life as a working professional.

"I wanted to thank you for your wonderful workshop you presented...Thank you for being so positive with us. I have been to so many workshops about theatre after college that were just discouraging, and I walked out of your discussion feeling very positive and inspired, as well as feeling far more confident in my knowledge about what I need to do to be successful. Some of the things you talked about I never would have even thought about, so thank you for making me think about things we never focus on in school."
